BOIL WATER ORDER IS LIFTED

On September, 8th, 2022 the Monhegan Water Company with the help of Hayley Ward has completed the Level 2 Assessment. Below is a link to the level 2 assessment that outlines the problem which caused the contamination as well as the corrective actions taken. Jean Flannery, the State Inspector from the Drinking Water Program has lifted the Boil Water Order.

The Monhegan Water Company is continueing to monitor chlorine levels closely as well as pursuing upgrades to the treatment facility.

This report was prepared for Monhegan Plantation under award CZM NA18NOS4097419 to the Maine Coastal Program from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, U.S. Department of Commerce administered by the Municipal Planning Assistance Program at the Maine Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry.
